  1. I remember the Smoke-Free Class of 2000. Fourth grade. I was scandalized when some guy came to our science class with two mason jars stuffed with cotton balls and tubing coming out the top. When he actually lit a cigarette (!) and smoked it (!!), he blew the smoke into the tubes so we could see the cotton balls become polluted with the smoke. The jars represented our lungs, and if the cigarette smoke did that to the cotton balls, what would it do to our internal organs? Let’s just say it made an impression that I (obviously) haven’t forgotten.

  2. I remember that at the end of the school year, when our teacher was taking all the posters and stuff off the walls, she gave away everything that was specific to the Class of 2000 (and it seem like there was a lot of stuff). I won the Smoke Free poster in a drawing…
